A bulky portable laptop is hardly the solution if you are a businessperson on the move. And for all those discerning environmentally conscious consumers, you’ll be glad to know that most of the ultra portable laptop computers have no moving parts inside which means it takes much less energy to run them. One very popular ultra portable laptop runs on just 20 Watts. That’s about one third of what the power hungry behemoths of old consume.
Also the small screen and keyboard may prove a pain to view and use. Additionally, the low voltage processors lack the punch present in their higher power cousins. A smaller battery size in ultraportables mean that very few of them offer a huge battery life
Even with performance and size lesser than conventional laptops, ultra portables usually come with a significant price tag. A case in point can be the Apple Macbook Air which starts at US$–99 and goes all the way up to US$ 2500. Whether the premium is worth paying is an issue under debate.
Choosing any particular brand may be a difficult task. Every manufacturer of portable laptop computers provides you with an ultra thin laptop option. From Dell to Sony, Lenovo to Compaq, the market is huge for ultra thin portable computers and every one of the manufacturers will offer you a competitive price.
These technological gadgets are a wonder in its own ways with so many in such a small space. So light that you’ll believe can float. These nifty, powerful little systems probably have all the muscle you need for typical business processing, along with a few enticing extras that can make your travel hours much less of a burden. With its own set of pros and cons, an ultra portable is obviously the ultimate portable laptop for anyone who spends a lot of time on the road, giving you excellent performance in a tiny form factor.
